Doublespeak, continued...Michael Moore at the Republican convention: most of the primetime speakers at the GOP convention are "gay rights advocates and abortion rights activists" who are at odds with the party's platform and the positions taken by the Bush administration, such as Governor Schwarzenegger and Rudy Guilliani. "There's no way the Republicans can win if they are really themselves." Quoted from a John Nichols article in The Nation, via Alternet.

More GOP doublespeak... this time from the President: " I don't think you can win it [the war on terrorism]....But I think you can create the conditions that those who used terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of the world." It is wishful thinking to use the past tense when referring to acts of terror, of course. But does he expect us to forget all the trumpets of victory that were sounded on the subject during the last year? Or is the President flip-flopping?
Can the GOP continue to criticize John Kerry as a "flip-flopper" while they speak out of both sides of their collective mouth on the issue of gay unions? This is not an organization with a history of tolerance for diversity of opinions.... Or can we simply not believe anything they say?
Not the economy, stupid...or anything else, for that matter...Clearly, the GOP is banking on our fears of another attack as election strategy.
