It is a curious situation that the fundamentalist mindset of the Islamist movement (and I use the term to refer to the wing of Islam that is violent) is now moving into more direct conflict with a Christian fundamentalist mindset of the USA. A sharpening conflict is heated to a faith-based boil where the elements of rationality and diplomacy are being devalued. The terrible danger is that there is no reasoning with the dogmatic partisans of opposing moral positions. Since God is on everyone's side, of course, all involved are too convinced to dialogue or compromise... Everyone loses
