What we have are ersatz values.... When the USA is recovered from the drunken binge of so-called "values" we are suffering through these days, perhaps liberals can seize the moment and remind Americans of some more fundamental values, real values. Honesty used to be prized, I remember. Can we not aspire to a set of values that would define as a moral scandal that the most powerful man on the planet could lead us into a war by means of a demonstrably false reason? Rather than the pathetic aping of Republican puffery about so-called "moral values", could liberal politicians not seek a position that would distinguish between phoney "values" and real ones?
