When the twin towers fell, we were exhorted to bravely go about the business of our lives: "Don't let them scare you! They want you to be afraid!" How is it then that we tolerate the long and apparently sacred tradition that preachers may use threats, shame and fear to make their way among us. That is the very definition of "terror-ism".
