Joy in a Chicago dawn...Is it really possible that America has, in a dramatic and decisive way, chosen the intelligent, the humane, the articulate, the even-tempered...the black?  Have we really, as a nation, seen through the watermelon and Aunt Jemima and terrorist references made when Obama's name was cited in the heated moments of this campaign?  Is it possible that-- after this long and unhappy American epoch of superheated fear and mistrust of the "foreigner" and the "other"-- we have looked with hope toward a former college professor with a rainbow ethnicity?  America has made an astounding, rainbow choice and reminded the world that it is a place, as Obama said last night, where "all things are possible."
